  • Research lifecycle status using manufacturer websites, databases, and tools.
  • Flag risks (end-of-life, long lead times, limited stock).
  • Suggest viable alternatives or replacements.
  • Deliver findings in a structured report (e.g., Power BI dashboard, inventory analysis).

  • A final report summarizing lifecycle risks, obsolescence concerns, and recommended alternatives.

Logistics & Time Commitment:

  • Students have 45 in-class hours plus additional time outside of class.
  • Work will be conducted remotely with one initial facility tour for context.
  • Ongoing check-ins with AEI and faculty ensure alignment.
  • Project duration: Fall 2025 semester (Sept–Dec).

Additional Notes:

  • Students will begin with a sample dataset to practice process before handling critical AEI data.
  • NDAs will be signed as required.
  • This project also highlights Calgary’s role in electronics manufacturing beyond oil and gas, supporting broader industry visibility.
